MDCAT Score Predictor Tool
Enter your mock test scores for each subject to get an estimated MDCAT score. This tool assumes the standard MDCAT total of 200 marks. (Biology: 68, Chemistry: 54, Physics: 54, English: 18, Logical Reasoning: 6).
The Purpose of These Options
Recent improvements/declines: A student might have significantly improved or fallen behind since their last mock test. Mock test difficulty vs. actual exam: The mock test might have been easier or harder than the student anticipates the actual MDCAT to be. Test-day nerves or confidence: How a student feels they'll handle the pressure of the real exam. Specific topic mastery not fully reflected: A student might know they are very strong or weak in areas that weren't heavily tested in the mock.
Explanation of Each Option:
Average (No Adjustment) What it means: The student believes their mock test scores are a fair and accurate representation of their current abilities and how they are likely to perform on the actual MDCAT. They don't feel a strong need to adjust the prediction up or down based on other factors. Impact on Calculation: The predicted score will be exactly the sum of the subject scores entered. No percentage adjustment is applied to the total. Adjusted Score = Raw Score
Slightly Below Average (-2%) What it means: The student feels they might perform slightly worse in the actual MDCAT than their mock scores suggest. Perhaps they feel their mock test was a bit on the easier side. Maybe they've identified some minor weaknesses since the mock. They might be a little less confident about performing under pressure.
Impact on Calculation: The tool will reduce the raw sum of their mock test scores by 2%. Adjusted Score = Raw Score * 0.98 (which is Raw Score - 2% of Raw Score)
Significantly Below Average (-5%) What it means: The student has a stronger feeling that their mock scores might be overestimating their likely MDCAT performance. They might feel the mock tests they took were considerably easier than the actual MDCAT. They might be aware of significant gaps in their preparation or have struggled with consistency. They might have high test anxiety that they believe will notably impact their performance.
Impact on Calculation: The tool will reduce the raw sum of their mock test scores by 5%. Adjusted Score = Raw Score * 0.95 (which is Raw Score - 5% of Raw Score)
Slightly Above Average (+2%) What it means: The student feels they might perform slightly better in the actual MDCAT than their mock scores indicate. Perhaps they feel they've made good progress since their last mock test. They might believe the mock test they took was unusually difficult. They might be feeling more confident and prepared for the exam environment.
Impact on Calculation: The tool will increase the raw sum of their mock test scores by 2%. Adjusted Score = Raw Score * 1.02 (which is Raw Score + 2% of Raw Score)
Significantly Above Average (+5%) What it means: The student is quite confident that their mock scores underestimate their true potential for the MDCAT. They may have seen substantial improvement in their understanding and speed. They might feel their mock tests didn't fully capture their strengths or were taken when they weren't at their best. They have a strong belief in their ability to perform well on the actual exam day.
Impact on Calculation: The tool will increase the raw sum of their mock test scores by 5%. Adjusted Score = Raw Score * 1.05 (which is Raw Score + 5% of Raw Score)
